A request from our Captain
My name is PaddyHolyday and I am the current club captain of Uphill Castle Cricket Club. We are a local club based in Weston-super-Mare, celebrating our 130th anniversary as we enter the 2023 season.
As a club, we pride ourselves on being a welcoming group and are known in the community for providing inclusive cricket to all. In recent years, we have introduced a Ladies team and also host a disability team in the form of the North SomersetHounders. Furthermore, we have gained recent publicity for hosting Afghani refugees, providing them with kit and the opportunity to play the sport they love. One individual, Imran, has done extremely well and was the 1st teams leading wicket-taker for the 2022 season.
We were also proud last year to receive the Somerset Cricket Club of the Year award, as voted by members and players of other clubs.

Over the last two years, like many other sports clubs and local businesses, we have struggled financially, making it difficult to provide for all our members as we have in previous years. Rising costs, an increase in utility bills, and lost income due to the Covid-19 pandemic have hit the club hard. Due to this, we are looking to renew our sponsorship opportunities to provide additional income to a variety of projects and the general running of the club.
Our main priority is to continue to sustainably provide a safe, welcoming environment for anyone who has an interest in cricket. For this, we rely on your support.
