Uphill Castle Cricket Club are delighted to announce a two-year sponsorship deal with Truespeed to become their principal partner.

The deal, which will run until at least the climax of the 2024 season, will provide funds and support needed for the years ahead and allow the team to concentrate on their cricket and securing success in league and cup competitions. This generous investment from Truespeed will also allow Uphill Castle to continually develop their junior platform, ensuring youth players have access to high quality kit and coaching.

Truespeed will be the front main sponsors of both the newly designed match and training shirt worn by all members across relevant age groups and senior sides. Furthermore, their branding has been added to the previously used ‘Thunder’ T20 kit.

Paddy Holyday, Club Captain of Uphill Castle told the Weston Mercury: “Everyone at Uphill Castle would like to thank Truespeed for their support, it is clear that the local community is at the heart of everything they do. This deal will benefit all members of our club and allows us to continually provide a platform for people to play the sport they love.”

“Having such a forward-thinking company back us really helps us achieve our ambitions to become one of the top cricket clubs in the Somerset area. We are looking forward to a long and successful partnership bringing much success.”

Truespeed deal increases potential for development

“This investment from Truespeed will go directly towards our new artificial nets development at the club. This is a project that has desperately needed to be completed in previous years, but has not been possible to due financial constraints. With this support, we can provide new training facilities for all members of the club; senior, ladies & junior.”

Matthew Gerrard, Brand Engagement Manager at Truespeed had this to say on the exciting new partnership: “Sponsoring a local community club like Uphill Castle that provides so much for the local area is very important to us as a company. As a community business, we believe in supporting local activities to allow them to growth and continue to provide for the communities they serve.”

“Personally, I also believe in the good and benefit that a sports club can bring and do. I have been around sports all my life; cricket in particular and have seen the positive impact that sport in general can have not just on an individual level but also for the area as a whole through increasing local participation and bringing local people together.”

Newly pointed Youth Chairman at Uphill Castle, Pete Frake added: “I am committed within my new role to grow the section, building on the great work done over the last few years and aiming to have teams in all age groups taking part in local matches.”

“In order to do this, we recognise that we need support. Knowing that Truespeed, a leading, progressive, successful full fibre broadband provider are pledging financial support to the whole club, by way of sponsorship, is a massive boost to us in becoming the club we are aspiring to be. Youth players will see the direct influence of this Truespeed partnership, allowing us to develop our all-weather training facilities at the club.

Who are Truespeed?

In partnership with Uphill Castle, Matthew Gerrard also provided this information on what Truespeed can offer in the local community…

Based in Bath, Truespeed is a community focused company delivering full fibre broadband to homes and businesses throughout the Southwest. By building a brand-new infrastructure, Truespeed delivers gigabit-capable full fibre broadband directly into premises, providing guaranteed speed, reliable and future-proofed connectivity to every property it connects.

We know that fast, reliable broadband at home isn’t a ‘nice to have’. It’s a ‘have to have’. With all of us demanding more from our broadband than ever before, most suppliers struggle to deliver.

But not us. Truespeed is better because, unlike most other providers that use either your copper phone line to deliver your broadband or a combination of fibre and copper, we will install your very own full fibre line all the way into your home. Which means we can give you a more stable supply whilst guaranteeing you’ll get the speeds you pay for.

For years, big broadband suppliers have been promising speeds they know they can’t deliver. Speeds you, the customer, pay for – but don’t receive. But, because we bring our full fibre connection all the way into your home, we can guarantee you’ll get the speed you choose.

And it’s not just speed, a full fibre connection can cope with up to 100 devices. So, you and your family can watch more, game more, and work more – all at the same time without a buffer or a breakage between you.
